GIFTING
Gifting properties in the UAE is a procedure whereby an individual or entity can transfer part or all of the property to an eligible relative as a gifting procedure with the Land Department. The benefits of gifting to a first blood relative / entity is the saving made on the transaction costs.
Properties can be gifted from Parent / Child or Husband / Wife. It is also possible for an individual to gift an asset to a company and vice versa. The Land Department reduces the transfer fees from 4% to 0.125% of the property value. A property can only be gifted once amongst family members.
